Outpatient Clinician

Salary Range: $14.42/hr-$18.92/hr DOE
Working Hours: 40 hours week; Mon-Fri; 8a-5p with flexibility
This is a highly responsible professional position serving as a clinical member of an outpatient treatment team as well as provide co-occurring treatment services to Stewart Marchman Act Behavioral Healthcare clients. The incumbent has responsibility to carry out treatment related functions (assessment, group, individual, consultive and supportive services); substance abuse services; education, support, and consultation to families; and crisis-intervention under the clinical supervision of licensed staff, if not licensed.
Master's Degree from an accredited school in Psychology, Social Work or other relevant Human Services discipline is required. Certification as an Addictions Professional or Licensed to practice as a Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist preferred.
Preferred knowledge in Medicaid billing and services and/or working with insurance companies; possess a strong clinical knowledge and skill in both substance abuse and mental health counseling;
able to establish professional working relationship with others; is personable and friendly (able to engage with clients);
able to document and have adequate command of the written word;
is self-sufficient and self-motivated;
be able to track and demonstrate their work is self-sustaining and self-supporting with the revenues generated by their work.
Provides therapeutic services for an assigned group of first and third party and Medicaid clients which may also include Intensive Outpatient Program and services
Assumes primary responsibility for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating and revising overall treatment goals and objectives through the use of the Individual Treatment Plan
Provides individual, group and family therapy and symptom management, ensuring immediate changes are made in the treatment plans as clients' needs change
Educates and supports clients' families, and advocates for clients' rights and preferences
Conducts comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history (e.g., onset, course and effect of illness, past treatment and responses, and risk behaviors), mental status, and diagnosis; physical health and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol; education and employment; social development and functioning; activities of daily living (e.g., self-care, living situation, nutrition, money management); and family structure and relationships
Consults with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process. Documents client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures
Participates in providing substance use and mental health treatment services
Provides ongoing assessment of clients' co-occurring symptoms and clients' response to treatment Makes appropriate changes in treatment plans to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided in response to changes in mental status or behavior which put clients at risk (e.g., suicidality)
Provides symptom education to enable clients to identify their co-occurring illness symptoms
Provides direct clinical services to clients on an individual, group, and family basis in the office Provides multiple-stage individual and group treatment in the office to develop a trusting relationship with clients so that they may more freely discuss behavioral health issues and its effect on mental and physical health and daily functioning
May participate in setting treatment goals and plans with clients to reduce or abstain from substance use and to learn replacement behaviors
Coordinates with outside inpatient services to detoxify clients and establish linkage to outpatient treatment, self-help programs (e.g., Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous), outpatient services, and residential facilities
Provides practical help and supports, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problems solving, direct assistance, training, and supervision to help clients obtain the necessities of daily living; and advocacy services.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
